Now Is the Perfect Time to Start Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal can save you a lot of hassle while creating a smoother appearance in your skin. Here’s why you may want to schedule it ASAP.

Laser hair removal is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments, and for good reason. This minimally invasive treatment can remove the hassle of shaving or waxing. In many cases, the results are permanent.

If you’re considering laser hair removal, now may be the perfect time to get started.

The BP Royal Medspa team in Henderson, Nevada, led by board-certified registered nurse Barbara (Barbie) Rodriguez, provides laser hair removal using Fotona laser technology for maximum results.

How laser hair removal works

Laser hair removal uses targeted light energy to damage hair follicles. The treated hair then sheds off over the course of days, weeks, or months, and has a harder time growing back.

The Fontana system at BP Royal Medspa utilizes the high-performance Nd: YAG laser with FRAC3® technology. Safe and effective, this advanced system works well on all skin types.

Common areas we treat include the face, sideburns, areolas, back, buttocks, underarms, bikini area, and legs.

What to expect during and after laser hair removal

During your laser hair removal session, you sit comfortably while your provider moves the laser device over your skin.

You may experience a light snapping sensation from the laser energy, but it’s not painful. We can apply a numbing gel if you have particularly sensitive skin.

Your session may take 10-15 minutes or up to an hour or more, depending on the overall size of the treatment areas. Side effects, such as redness, tenderness, and swelling, tend to be mild and temporary.

After laser hair removal, you need to stay extra careful about sun protection on treated areas. Meanwhile, avoid harsh soaps, hot showers, and rubbing treated skin. Cool compresses can help ease any irritation.

Timing your laser hair removal treatment

While individual results vary, most people notice a 10-25% reduction in hair after the first laser hair removal treatment. It may take 3-8 sessions to achieve permanent hair loss. From there, you may need a touch-up about once a year.

Scheduling your first laser hair removal session during the fall or winter helps ensure that your results have fully set in by spring or summer. It also leaves plenty of time for skin healing. So rather than wait until temperatures increase and bathing suit season arrives, get started soon.
